How Good Are You?
On March 11, 2006, Brainstormers confronted visitors to the Armory Show with their performance, How Good Are You? Hundreds of people participated by completing surveys about art world ethics, answering questions about conflicts of interest in the art world and the lack of representation of women in exhibitions. Dressed as scientists in absurd costumes that made the discomfort of ethical dilemmas more inviting, Brainstormers processed individual surveys and handed out the Brainstormers’ Report Gallery Guide. This publication included careful research about the commercial gallery system and satirical articles explaining the art world’s avoidance of women.
