Brainstormers

Point
Point, took place across from P.S.1 during the opening for “Greater New York” in March of 2005. Rumors of a gender imbalance in this show, which marketed itself as the most comprehensive survey of emerging New York artists, lead the Brainstormers to begin to research gender in the art world. They found that though women are the majority in MFA programs in the tri-state area, women are far less likely than men to have gallery representation. The Brainstormers' performance made the museum's bias visible to all who attended the opening.
